Welocme to the board if I have not yet done so. Our newspaper is filled with them, especially on Sunday. I am inclined to believe that most jobs don't get advertised in the paper.

I agree with all you say, and the newspaper is great source, but I was referring to jobs posted on this site. Usually there is a few and there hasn't been any in a couple of days. Just watching trends that's all. Kinda let's one know what's going on out there....Know what I mean?

Ooops, I am sorry. I thought you were speaking of the newspaper. It was nice to talk to you anywhere, don't you think?

Are any nurses actually having trouble finding jobs!

I realize I'm on the West Coast, but our biggest problem is which hiring incentive to accept!

My point exactly! Since there is a shortage I just thought it a little strange none are posted....just exercising my assessment skills!

Hey Glad2behere!

This is off topic but...I'm going to Ennis, Texas in September for the Fun Ford Weekend! Any tips on sights to see close by?

What are you interested in? Six Flags, Lone Star Park, Texas Motorplex? Dallas isn't all that scenic...could go by JFK Memorial and Dealy Plaza, West End is right there closeby within walking distance...restaurants, bands, horse carriages down the street mostly in the evening. Take the Continental exit off of I-35 near downtown....could tour the infamous Parkland Burn Unit....seriously, you could gave a great time between West End and Lonestar Park. I've spent a lot of tome years back at the Texas Motorplex, alot of drag racing...miss it pretty bad.

Re: No Jobs Posted in Jobs Section...Whazzupwitdat?

I thought there was a shortage as well. I jsut graduated in May, took my boards at th eend of July...and missed the NRP at the major hospital here. I live in New England, and it is rather rual here. There is one major hospital and several community hospitals that are quite a distance from me. The major hospital will not hire a graduate that has less then 1 year of experience unless they attend their NRP. They started recruiting last February. I applyed in April/May and did not get into their Aug, Sept or Oct program. I am bummed. Here I am an RN...all that work...and local as well.

I do have some apps out adn hope that something will come-up. I wanted to take the summer off...childcare etc.. and well I have been busy with a family and going to school for over two years now! I even took classes last summer (micro). I wanted to feel prepared to take the NCLEX and not have to worry about juggling a work schedule etc...I know many of you do.anyway....there are no hiring bonuses here!
