Re: Need A Nurse To Interview

1. I have always been interested in the heath field. Even when I was in school--even elementary.
2. I like when at the end of the day I know that I helped someone who was at one of the worst times in their lives and helped make that easier with something that I have done.
3. Greatest challenges--Non-compliant patients, being understaffed so that you do not get to spend the amount of time with each patient that you would like to, the NEVERENDLESS paperwork, the fact that the paperwork changes (almost) daily it seems. And feeling like there is not enough of you to go around.
4. Never miss the opportunity to learn from an experience, no matter how long you have been a nurse. Remember the feeling that you have as a nursing student. Use that feeling to help you when you are the experienced nurse working with student nurses.

Good luck!! Hope this helps!

Re: Need A Nurse To Interview

1. Like the first person to reply, I was always interested in going into nursing. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a nurse.
2. I enjoy getting to work with my patients and their families. I like knowing that what I am doing is making a difference. I like getting to teach my patients and their families about the things we are doing... vents, drips, etc.
3. Sometimes doctors... when they do things you know are not going to help a patient, or when they don't do things you know the patient needs. Also families are a huge challenge... when they try to tell you what to do, etc.
4. Never stop learning! Always be willing and ready to learn. You will mess up at some point, but learn from your mistake. If you don't know or don't understand something, then ask!

1.TELL ME HOW YOU BECAME INTERESTED IN THIS CAREER? It seemed good to me while candystriping.

2. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR WORK? Being in the know re: medical things, steady paycheck, flexible hours, helping patients, able to work in various settings.

3. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE GREATEST CHALLENGES? petty rules, working holidays and weekends, boredom

4.WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE ME AS I ENTER THIS FIELD? Volunteer or observe nurses first. Look before you leap. Not all that glitters is gold. [quote]

Best Wishes to you.
