Question Need to Know asap! Which states are "Walk-Through" on your RN license?

Hi everybody!

I need to know ASAP which states are "walk-through" on your nursing license.
I'm an RN.

I know South Carolina is; but what are the others?

I tried Google but couldn't find the answer.

Does anyone have a link, etc?

"Walk-through" is not a term I recognize. Are you referring to the nursing licensure compact? Here is the website: http://www.ncsbn.org/nlc/index.asp (BTW, it doesn't say that SC is a compact state ...)

If you're just referring to reciprocity, the ability to "automatically" get a license in another state because you have a license in your state, that applies to all 50 states. You just have to apply, pay whatever outrageous fee the "new" state BON has decided to charge, and have a clean disciplinary record and background check (the amount of time it takes to get the new license varies greatly, though).

I'm curious about the walk through thing too.

I had a counseling client some years ago who moved to Texas, and applied for her RN by endorsement. It took her less than 2 weeks, so I'd call that kind of a "walk through."

walk-through

Hello all,
A "walk-through" state is one that allows an RN to appear in person at the respective state's BON to obtain an RN license for that state then & there. It can take hours but you leave with a nursing license - according to those I've spoken with. Sorry,SunStreak, I don't know the answer to your question. Anybody else out there who can help?

Yes, "walk-through" means you can get your TEMPORARY PERMIT in one day.
You fill out all your paperwork for Licensure by Endorsement, and go to the Board of nursing office in that state.

They go over your paperwork and, if everything is "in order", give you your temporary permit right then and there!!!

As I said, I know SC does that; I was just curious which other states do. No, it has nothing to do with the compact thing.....

.........I hope somebody knows.

I did it when I moved to Indiana. However, I know Illinois does not.
