I am interested in what people out there are making per hour as an LPN and also what state you work in. What you started out at after graduation vs. now with some experience would be great too. Thanks a lot for sharing!
I am a nurse manager at a Family Practice Residency Program. I am also interested and am doing a community survey right now on LPN pay, especially for office nurses. Our pay range for Lpn's currently in our practice is between $11.00 and $14.90 per hour.
I would also appreciate any response to this question.

In north west NV most LPN's start out at about 13-15 per hour. However, our largest hosp. ony pays about 10. Experienced LPN who stay with one employer make 16-20 per hour.
We are extreemly rural. Even Reno, our only real city, is quite limited in the care that is available. We care flight daily to Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay on a regular basis.
Very few acute hospitals hire LPN's at all. Yet, LTC facilities are clammoring for them.
Until this Sep. our school was the only one in the state that had an LPN program.
This year they reopened one in Las Vagas. But that might as well be in another state. It's 400 miles.
I just started interviewing for my first LPN position. I have offers ranging from $12.50 at an acute hospital to $16 at a nursing home. I am probalbly going to take the one for $12.50.

I have been a LPN for 23 yrs. I have much varied experience and have been very lucky in that and esp. in a very sm. town. My problem is that with all my experience--no one wants to pay an LPN. When I worked Home Health for l3 yrs I made $22.00 a visit with no benefits or milage and that was 5 yrs. ago now. Now I work at an Internist's office and I make less than $12.00 and am the only nurse. I also am interested in trying to show for the amt. of pts. and work what is a fair pay scale. Last year I only got .66/hr. raise. I had also implemented several new forms and updated our office somewhat. I really feel I deserve more and most definitely overworked during office hours. My employers are only interested in the bottom line but I feel if I show them what other nurses are making and for the amt. of work and income I bring in to them with all the extra things I do, that I may be able to secure a more fair salary.
I work in a rural area in Va. The average pay seems to be $8-11/hour. Nursing homes here make less starting out at $7/hour. I noticed, by the posts, in other states nursing homes pay more. I was surprised. here they pay less.
My first job as a LPN was at a nursing home and i made $6.86/hr, that was 5 yrs ago. Recently a friend that graduated school and looking for her first job applied at the same nursing home and was offered only $7/hr, not much of an increase over 5 yrs eh?
I presently make $10.30/hr, the .30 cents came from the big annual raise we got! LOL!!
