I am a stay at home mom and am looking to go back to school to get my LPN. Because my time is limited I thought this would be a good place to start and then get my RN after my son starts school full time - he is almost 3.

What advice can you give me?

I already received a diploma in Medical assisting many years ago ( like 15 years ago) and I took some of the nursing courses in college but basically I am starting over fresh.

Yes, LPN is a good way to start. Heck, I went that route 19 years ago, and did go on to get my BSN.

Think of it this way....you get some experience along the way.

I think getting your LPN is a great way to start!

I know how hard it is to try committing to school when you have a small child (my daughter is almost two)...LPN is a great way to go!

So, it is then? I was wondering this myself.. I have been a sahm for almost 4 years now, and Im ready, have most of my preq's for ADN, however, its very competitive-so my idea is to get this and bridge over. I dont have any medical experience-really at all.. so Im thinking this would be good for me at least..

I think you should first look into LPN jobs in your area , I know some places are getting away from hiring LPNs.
