Looking up skin diseases today...and was wondering...

How do you tell the difference between Infantigo and Fever Blisters (HSV Type 1).

I was scanning through pics today and they looked the same.

Would a culture be necessary?

Do you mean impetigo?

I've had both and I can tell you from a pt's view: herpes gives you a tingling, burning sensation as it's coming up. Impetigo itches and gets crusty.

Ah...the voice of an expert

You are correct...I wasn't paying enough attention to Google when I retyped the word.

Thanks
