Question? - Hep B vaccination, IM or SC?

Just wondering if the Hepatitis B vaccination is done IM or Subcutaneous. In Ontario, LPN's can only give flu vaccines so I am not familiar with other types of vaccinations. Thanks for any replies.

Re: Hep B vaccination, IM or SC?

I've always given it IM, but I have given the recombinant. I believe you can give it either way depending on which form you have and the age of the pt.

IM is the route that I was taught. CDC does have sources that cite the right route for each type of vaccination.
