help w stethoscope

hi, anyone tell me if Littmann master classic II stethoscope is a good one?I got it as a gift, its the one with single sided chest piece- press harder and its a diaphragm, press lightly and it works as a bell. It sounds ok but I like steths with two sided chest pieces.

Anyone tell me if this works well, then I can keep it, o/w I want to sell it off to anyone interested, so I can buy the kind I want.
any suggestions for a two sided steth?

Re: help w stethoscope

It depends on what you prefer. I have a Littman Cardio III and would never buy anything else. Love it.

Re: help w stethoscope

I have that exact stethoscope now.......I love it. My other stethoscopes have all been the double sided type. I personally prefer the MC II....it has a clearer sound over the double sided type and easier to adjust the pressure you use than repositioning it. But everybody has their own preferences.

Re: help w stethoscope

I have had the Littman Classic II stethescope for 3-4 years now, and I really like it. The only thing is sometimes with the babies, you hear all the sounds at once So maybe next time I'll get a two-sided one with the smaller side for little ones. This one has held up so well though through all the abuse of nursing school and a floor with infectious diseases for my first job where I clean the thing like a madwoman!! It's still running strong!!
