Help Help I've got a psych test today

I've studied and studied this weekend. I've taken the NCLEX review tests and still I'm finding low grades. To me psych is not like physiology. Lets say you have a high BP, you do this this and this and you should get this result vs. psych. I find that psych rationales for the most part are driving me crazy. I can get it down to 2 answers but pick the wrong one. Even after finding out the rationale I still don't agree. Any suggestions? I'm freaking out. My last semester and we only have 4 tests. Can't screw up.

Thanks,

Could you be overthinking the questions? Sometimes reading too much into the questions may lead you to choose the wrong answers. Since you can narrow down the answer options to only two you probally have a good handle on the content. So review the stem of the question carefully, make sure you know what it is asking you. Then look for the distractor answers. The ones that sound good but are not the best choice. I know these are basic test taking strategies, but since you seem to know the content, it is most likely your strategy that needs improvement. Also, remember that the answer option that starts with "Why...." is usually not the correct answer. These are just general suggestions and I hope you don't think I am insulting your intelligence by reminding you of them. It is just so easy to read more into the question then needed. Good luck!!!!!!!!

Maybe try talking this over with your instructor. Or even an other instructor. Sometimes a different teacher will have a different way of presenting things that click for us.

But first I would try the one who taught the class. Maybe try talking with a psyc nurse at your hospital. Bring the material and discuss specifics that are giving you a hard time.
