Hi fellow nurses! Just wanted to wish everyone a happy nurses week and say thank you for the wonderful care you all give.Hope you have a wonderful week. How are some of you celebrating?
I'm organizing a covered dish lunch for Friday so we can celebrate ourselves. The hospital has gifts and little things going on, including the annual Nurse of the Year and other excellence awards.
Our facility combines nurses week with nursing home week - celebrated the week of Mother's Day. We have special events each day, special "dress up" days. On Wednesday of that week we celebrate employee recognition day - we receive a pin for years of service, employees who were employee of the month over the past year are recognized, employees with perfect attendance are recognized and we have employee of the year presentation. Afterwards we have a buffet with cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, cake, then play a game of take away. All during work hours. And for the nurses, last year I think we got a $10.00 gift card for gasoline. On Friday we have an ice cream social. HMMMM!
