GYN cancer question

Many GYN cancer patients come to our floor with advanced stages. I also read that most of the time GYN cancer is diagnosed in late stages because early stages produce no symptoms or very little. I am interested in any info available regarding testing, s+s, procedures, anything regarding early diagnosis (before stage 3). If anyone has any good links I would grately appreciate them.

Re: GYN cancer question

I guess I would need more information. What organ(s) are being affected? I mean, is this ovarian cancer? Cervical cancer? Uterine cancer? Cancer of certain glands, e.g. Bartonlin, Skein?

I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer at stage 1. It was diagnosed with a D&C. If you have any other Qs feel free to PM me.

Re: GYN cancer question

Uterine cancer survivor here. Had my first symptoms in Jan of 98, pain in upper quads, bleeding, passing clots, just did not feel "right" Called my gyn, he told me that since I was 41, that it was probably the change at earliest onset. Did not want to see me, told me that if I thought it was that much of an emergency that I should go to the hospitail, otherwise he would see me in the fall. Was not at all happy with that answer, so called my aunt, and went to see her gyn the same week. He put me in the hospital, found stage 1 uterince Ca after a D&C. Had a total hysterectomy done and 2 more surgeries followed. At this time, I am and have been cancer free for almost 8 years. My advice, follow your feelings, don't let any MD tell you that you are just exagerating. Get your yearlies done.
