Does anyone have guidelines or procedures on meals to post-op OPS/ ASC patients?

On most procedures, it is AAT usually starting with ice chips, then sips of water, on to clear liquids, and so on... Depends on what they had done and how they handled the anesthesia though I guess. I know that, say, on a Lap Choley that is one of the deciding factors of exactly how soon you are discharged is when you can keep at least liquids down.

Re: Guideline / Procedure

We are currently in a system where they give AAT but it usually ends with a full course meal!!!!

I was looking for a guideline that I could follow since we are in the process of changing this. No sense in reinventing the wheel. And we feel a full course meal for Outpatient procedures or any procedure within an hour after surgery is too much. Unfortunately going by FEELINGS is not a standard of care....
