I liked it, and was surprised at the reactions. In general, I wish people would go through life getting rattled about bigger things, smile and laugh more, and just be more tolerant. People seem to sit around waiting for something to be offended by.

Some of us don't sit around waiting to be offended, although some people are like that I'm sure. Again, until you walk in someone else's shoes and live the experiences they've had it's not fair to be so judgemental of those who don't walk around smiling and laughing at every joke that comes their way.

Tolerance is a two-way street.

Yes there are bigger fish to fry and in the scheme of things a few jokes that insult and degrade another person is not a big deal as long as most people think it's funny. (sarcasm there, I don't really think that way.)

I totally respect your opinion and your right to it.

It's funny, but sadly rings true in many ways. I'd much rather be the Graduate Nurse, and have the Graduate Nurse caring for me.

I don't understand why some people that have issues with a thread feel the need to post so. If you are offended by the joke in the first three sentences, why keep reading? I find it especially dramatic when these same people continue to come back to post additional comments on a thread they had a problem with. Get over it and LIGHTEN UP......lolololololololol

Dramatic? You're talking about me because I'm the only one who has come back to continually post to this thread. I'm o.k. with that. That's what I do, I didn't get 25,000 plus points by not posting my opinion. I do admit I sometimes belabor my point over and over again, and sometimes do need to know when to back off and not keep repeating myself.

Seriously, what kind of bb would it be if people didn't post opinions. How boring would it be if we were all the same or decided not to express ourselves and play follow the leader and say the same thing, or express what we feel is the majority opinoin that pleases people.

If you have a problem with it, why keep reading all the posts, why not just lighten up and get a life and move on. Because whether you or anyone else like it or not, understand it or not, I'm still going to honestly express myself.

The OP obviously thought it might offend someone ..... just from looking at his title for the thread "promise to be funny". That right there sends you the message that it could be controversial. No?

I don't think so. The OP came back and said they didn't mean to offend anyone, which was very respectful I think. I think the "promise to be funny" part of letting us know it was a joke and not a serious thread on new grads vs. experienced nurses, i.e. not another "why do nurses eat their young" thread.

Yeah I guess I could see that ..... to show that it was a lighter thread.

I didn't take offense to it, but I didn't laugh either ........ I just didn't see any original comedy that made me laugh out loud. But to each their own.
