Not a Nurse but I am a Surgical Tech, I scrub alllll day long.. People rarely break out from the gloves. They usually break out as a reaction to the gown cuffs or the actual water less scrub that we use. We do have the latex free, nitrile kind of gloves though, and they work for anyone that may have sensitive skin. We were also told by the employee health nurse to wrap webril/kerlix around out wrists if we have a reaction, which is kind of weird and hard to do.

But powder in the OR, is a NONO. It can get everywhere and is not sterile.
