Geez, I'm glad I'm not working right now

I was recently diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. Not diabetic yet but on the way. My doc told me I need to lose weight and I need to lose it now, so he put me on Meridia. I have been dragging for two days. He told me I should adjust within a week or so; I don't think I've ever had side effects this strong to a med before, except for nausea with narcs. Good thing I'm off work right now, because I don't think I'd be doing my share.

No HAs. I did have trouble sleeping last night but it was also the full moon. I always have trouble sleeping on the full moon and right before/after.

Doesn't Meridia just sop up ingested fat? What side effects? Diarrhea?

Aside from the Meridia, did you get in touch with a nutritionist and a personal trainer?

My step-dad was put on Meridia, but I have been "forcing" him to come walk with me and to change his eating habits.

Sue, no it doesn't, it's an appetite suppresant. Constipation rather than diarrhea.

Sister Mike, no I didn't. Watching calories and walking. No money for a personal trainer, not after paying for the Meridia.

Tazzi...I love you! Go to the Abbott website and see if they offer patient assistance. The people that own the local major soft drink bottling plant here get patient assistance, so it isn't totally income based...and since you are unemployed, you have a good chance of getting it.

Mac, I'm not unemployed. Paid leave. Insurance doesn't cover Meridia.
