Unhappy Frustrated Mom needs help!

Ok so I just found you guys and I am hoping that someone may have some suggestions for me. My daughter is 5 months old and when she was born she swallowed amniotic fluid and went straight to the ICU but was released to go home 2 days later. Ever sice she has had very loud breathing, almost to the point that it sounds like she is snooring or needs to clear her throat. Her doc thought maybe milk allergies so we swithced to every fomula made, and nothing! About 5 weeks ago she develped a cough to go along with this, and would cough to the point that she was gasping for air, and turning blue, they new diagnosis was Laryngomalacia or Reflux, although a swallowing test and an upper GI both showed no signs of Reflux, they went ahead and put her on Prevacid to see of it would help. In the mean time both of her ears have been infected for the 5 weeks as well so she was put on amoxacillian as well. About two weeks ago we go to an ENT specialist and he sticks this thing ( for loss of better words) up her nose and down her throat to look at her voice box etc. Im trying to hold my very upset infant still through all of this, and once again this test shows nothing wrong! We stay on all the meds and go back to the doc today and the next step is a brynoschopy (sp?) test, They tell me about the test and I am all concerned but first they do a chest X ray and they tell me that there are white spots that have shown up on the e xray....does anyone know what any of this could mean?? This is an ongoing battle and it looks like there is no end in sight!

Sorry to disappoint you but I don't believe you will find help here. We are unable to give direct medical advice and can only encourage you to seek professional advice from your MD, or ask for a referral.

Good luck

Re: Frustrated Mom needs help!

I am so sorry for your daughter's problems. However, we really can't provide medical advice. Please follow up with your doctor.
