Question? - Flu shots

Hi everyone! I have a question maybe someone could answer.I work at a residential center for kids with behavioral issues. We get Doctors orders to give flu shots to the children.Flu shots are also available to the staff at a cost.I know we need a Doctors order to do anything. How could we leagally give flu shots to staff in this case?Would like the medical director or the staffs own physician write an order??What about those flu clinics??How does that work??(AS far as a Doctors order?) Any Answers would be welcomed.Since flu season is coming and Im sure ill be required to give some flu shots to staff. Thanks in advance

Re: Flu shots

In my facility, the staff gets flu shots for free. Also we don't need an MD order for the staff. It is up to us whether we want to get the shot or not. If you do, you just sign a piece of paper stating you are aware of the side effects of the shot and whether you are pregnant or not. But I am not too sure about the patients. Maybe they need an MD order?

Re: Flu shots

I work in LTC and we get ours for free-it's set up just like any flu vac clinic in a public place (pharmacy, dept.store, etc) We have to sign a waiver and complete a questionaire regarding our current health and then we get the vac.No orders need be written.
