Thanks shotzie for the great post. I have taken the flu shot every fall for the last several years. I have had a couple of episodes of flu in the past that made me wish I were dead, and I never want to go through that again. I developed a terrible case of bronchitis after one episode. That was enough to convince me to take the vaccine every year. Have had only a mild case of the flu since I began taking the annual shot, and it was short lived. All of my family get the shot, including my elderly parents. I would be scared to death for them not to get it.
The information in your post is consistent with what I have read, and what our infection control staff promote. Thanks again.
