First Night Jitters

Oh my, my first night is tonight and I should be sleeping. I am a brand new grad nurse going to work in a great cardiac step down ICU but I am trying to gather my wits, stethoscope, etc. and also have a case of the trots from nerves!! imodium here i come, any helpful suggestions, what to bring, I will be fortunate enough to have a great preceptor for 6 months but the nerves are still there!!!!!!!!
ps. i am one of the new "older" less flappable new grads with many years hospital lab experience (30)
any help would be appreciated....taking deep breaths as we speak, guided imagery.................oh and I have worked midnights for 10 years..8 hr. shifts not 12

Re: First Night Jitters

Take a deep breath, get some rest, get together whatever you always took to work, plus your stethescope and drug book. I am sure things will go better than you've even dared to hope!

Pay attention, take good notes, and ask questions. Congratulations, and good luck!

Just a little humor, too much Immodium and you may get to do your first digital disimpaction. On yourself!
