Curious - Federal nusing union, system-based unions, etc.

I have been learning so much from this website. Thanks to every single individual that comes here to participate.
I have been thinking about the idea of unionising. Some hospital systems, like Keiser, have it and many nurses like it while others don't. So, if we had a Federal Nursing Union (for licensed nursing personnne) versus the kind that is based on hospital systems, how do you think it would work? How do you think it would affect you? Not manadatory, of course. I look foward to reading your informative replies.
