Add me to the list of people who think it is wrong and you should stop.

Well I actually run my own business tutoring students by email and checking work and just generally steering them in the right direction.

I remember as a student getting diddly squat help so the people I mentor get help from a nurse who understands their plight too.

I actually get a great deal of satisfaction knowing I can be of help and let them actually do the work themselves!

I agree completely -- I'm just saying I'd like to see the companies made illegal, too. As it is, we can kick the students out of school, but the companies aren't doing anything wrong -- to me, that's like making recreational drug use illegal, but it's okay to sell the drugs ...

I too think it is totally wrong. I am glad you feel guilt; that should be enough for you to STOP. And I for one would be scared to death I would be caught if I ever tried to turn in a paper that I didnt write. Imagine the stress that fear would cause; for me it would be so overbearing I wouldnt be able to focus on anything else, therefore not permitting me to getting any of my OTHER schoolwork done. Nope, I will do it myself and take my chances of getting the best grade I can.

Well the companies I write for are overwhelmed so are the students not wrong for seeking the help in the first place? Chicken and egg scenario huh?

That's why I set up my business not to rival the other companies but to offer a more 'moral' and mentor based service, I don't think anyone can be reprimaned of criticized for trying to help nurses that often do not receive adequate support from tutors that earn a huge amount of bucks to do so.....

Are you trying to tell us that you're a nurse? Because no nurse would think it's ok for a nursing student not do thier own work.

You registered today, yes? So are you a troll or are you trying to drum up business via this site?

I am unclear about what you are getting at. I don't think anyone has said that the students are right for seeking this "help" but you asked the question and you have the answers.

I am also unclear about what you actually do. your first post

What are people's views on this?

So do you tutor or ghost write? you seem to have contradicted yourself.

cardiacRN2006 I think you hit the old proverbial nail square on the head there.... sounds like Word Perfect was looking not only for some justiifcation of this behavior but a new client pool to dip in as well!
Maybe I am wrong ...I HOPE I AM but it all seems just a little to shady and did anyone notice that under pressure from questions the OPs intentions just keep looking murkier and murkier, story keeps changing , first the OP worked for a few other companies ...now the OP has their own "moral" and mentor based service?!?!?!
PERSONALLY As a student just accepted to a hard to get into program all on my own merits BTW , and the idea of another student using someone else work to get where I am or beyond enfuriates me ...but know what ? I comfort myself with the fact that cheaters NEVER prosper, we all have to pass our own NCELX ~
I think "companies" who help students cheat in ANY from are a POX on humanity...and should be considered illegal exclusive of the fact they are immoral....possibly based on grounds of fraud !

I think we are ALL saying that the students who submit someone else's work as their own are wrong and deserve to be punished. Both you and the students are wrong. They are cheating and you are knowingly helping them to cheat by ghost writing for them.

Now ... if you are ONLY tutoring, that's a different story. Teaching someone how to write or reviewing material with them is not wrong. But actually ghost writing is wrong. To "stay clean," you need to establish a firm line and not cross it.

Re: Essays being written by 3rd parties - your views.

If a student is too overwhelmed to do their own work then they need to fail. This may sound mean, but if they are that overwhelmed as a student then they are going to be overwhelmed as a nurse too.

Do you want a nurse who cheated in school to be taking care of you when you are having a heart attack or your brain is bleeding. NO, you want the nurse who did all their own work and learned as much as they could from it.
