Dr. Phil today

Ok, just now i was watching Dr. Phil interveiw a physician who had an affair with a nurse and he said (as close a paraphrase as I can remember from five minutes ago):
"I've worked in the health care delivery system for a long time and I've seen lots of times nurses playing footsie with doctors because they see it as their ticket out of having to work as a nurse".

Ok, I'm not going to even get into all the problems with this statement since they are obvious, I am writing the show right now to explain why this is not an acceptable way to desribe a profession.
Who's with me?

EDITED by Nurse Ratched to add an update on the story:

Who said that? Dr Phil or the guest?

I would imagine the guest said it...they're doing a series right now with a doctor who is cheating on his wife with a nurse. The mistress/nurse is pregnant with the doctor's baby as well. Soap opera, anyone?

I wish they wouldn't make such a big deal out of the doctor/nurse thing...just makes me cringe because it perpetuates a stereotype. All that's really important is that the guy is a scumbag who's cheating on his wife with a co-worker. Grrr.

nope, that quote is from Dr. Phil himself.

I got on the website and sent a quick e-mail, but I plan to follow it up with a typed letter

I didn't see this show, but I saw the first one where they introduced this Doctor, and his wife that he was cheating on. He is a scumball. He cheated on his wife, and the other woman is now pregnant. He couldn't decide whether he wanted to stay with his wife and kids, or go with the other woman (who happens to be a nurse).

He is a detestable man, and I cannot imagine that I would care one iota what he thinks. It was this idiot that said what he did about some nurses; not Dr Phil or the program. He said a lot of other stupid things, too.

Now, if Dr Phil agreed with him, that would make me pick up a pen, and start writing. How did Dr Phil react to that statement? I wouldn't expect him to derail the conversation they were having, to defend nurses, or set the man straight, but I wouldn't want him nodding his head as the man made this statement, either.

This may sound harsh, but i can't believe what a doormat that the wife of that doctor is. No way i would stick around to continue to let a man treat me like dirt just because he can't keep his pants zipped up.

And i don't feel that Dr. Phil's statement was a statement that described an entire profession.
