Re: I have joined the ranks of the unemployed

What's up with the nurses week? I got written up for very twisted and ridiculous story that pt's wife made up (and management believed her, not me). It is so ridiculous, I even cried, because it's ok to get in trouble for something you did, but I did not do what she said I did.
I am getting so discouraged, I think about totally quitting and going to school for something more meaningful. For the last two weeks, I was yelled at by the moody doctor; yelled at by fussing wife of the patient; this morning doctor basically grabbed my left breast during rounds, showing that I put lidoderm patch in the wrong spot on my patient (even I put it exactly where pt pointed me at). I don't know how long I will last. I feel like not coming back to work on Monday.

Good grief. I'm sorry about that. Sounds like you've been assaulted. Hang in there.

Yikes! It doesn't sound like you're having a good week, at all. I hope things get better for you soon!

Re: Discouraged

((((HUGS)))) I would certainly hope that the nurse manager would not take the word of a patient over yours. Our nurse manager always defends us, but apoligizing and trying to appease the patient.

Re: Discouraged

doctor should not be grabbing at you.

pt's wife should not be making up stories - maybe others who hear
will realize how ridiculous the story is - a person who does this
will sometimes become known for their style - then the person
maybe will put her foot in her own mouth.

Re: Discouraged

Was that a female doctor? Or a male doctor?
....the one that grabbed your breast...

Y'know ... when you think about it ... the gender shouldn't really matter. It's wrong to grad someone unnecessarily, period.

Re: Discouraged

Well, if it were a male doctor...then it sound like a lawsuit
If it is a female doctor, she can get a verbal warning for that one...
It is wrong...I agree!

Re: Discouraged

I am so sorry. You have already received good advice. NO ONE has the right to grab you in any way.
