I just did a paper on the public policy repsonse to the nursing shortage in California. There is a ton of info and many bills recently passed and on the front burner right now. Lots of info available. Good luck!
I did a "policy analysis" on the ANAs stand on medical marijuana. Look at organization sites like the ANA for "white papers" these are their stances on public policy issues.

Another topic: the legal liability for an RN who works in an office or dept. with UAPs. Is she legally liable for their actions if she has no supervisory responsibilty over their work? What if she is their supervisor in name only; they work with a doctor or are autonomous. My state has a position statement on this subject.
