Curious - bulletin boards, the ones on your walls

I asked this same question before but I guess it was too boring: What do some of you have on your bulletin boards around the hospital, that make people read them? Fun ones? Entertaining? Informative? We have junk that nobody will look at, and I want to change them. Any suggestions?

As always, thanks.

Re: bulletin boards, the ones on your walls

I have the 5 second rule on my bulleten board & am a 6th grade school nurse, but I did boards when I worked in the ED and I think the funnier and sillier and "grosser" they are the better!
I feel like they are meant to be snippets of info and not take much time to read.

Try www.kidshealth.org
They have fun info

I think if the information on them doesn't change often, then people just stop looking at them. I know I do.

I think putting cartoons up on a pretty regular basis helps get people's attention. Bright colors/designs!

Edit your bulletin board regularly. They can get really cluttered. When boards get cluttered, important information gets ignored as people tune out the clutter.

Post them in the bathroom directly in front (women) or in back (men) of the potty like my hospital does. That way you KNOW you have a captivated audience.

That is where our bb is.

We used to have funny cartoons. Now we have signs stating we are not meeting goals, comments left by patients, etc. It used to be fun to go to the br, now I dread going in there and reading how awful we're supposedly doing (satisfaction is at 97%).

I put up a cartoon to liven it up but the nm tore it down the next day. People really miss those funny quotes and cartoons that only those in healthcare would understand.

Ours are changed weekly.... somebody actually goes to the public boards and removes the old stuff (ads, announcements, etc.). Regular updating of each unit's BB is encouraged throughout the hospital where I work.
