Anyone repeat A&P?

I am finishing up my last term of A&P, and I wasnt accepted to any of the schools that I applied to. I am going to take the CNA class during the summer. I passed the first two terms of A&P with a C and its looking like I will get a C this term also. How many had to retake A&P for higher grades, to get in school? Would I be able to work as a CNA and attend school, are emplyoers flexiable with scheduling? I have always worked retail and becoming a CNA is my first step into healthcare.

Re: Anyone repeat A&P?

Honey, when it comes to field like nursing, donot be ashamed or afraid of anything because someone else somewhere has gone through the same things or even worse. I had to repeat A&P for a better grade and I got a B in it. I have also decided to go the LPN route to nursing for personal reasons, because I have already take A&P1 and 2, I will have one class waived for me. The higher the grades you make on your prerequisites the better for you.
You will be able to work as a CNA and go to school, that is what I am doing right now. I have talked to my manager about flexibility in scheduling and she is ready to work with me on it. Most employers try to support their employees ambition to further their studies expecially in the nursing field. In the hospital where I work, we have tuition reimbursement among our benefits. This goes along way to encourage us to further our education. Not all employers are like this. I have also had experiences with such employers and I had to quit. So dont let any employer get int the way of your education, its YOUR EDUCATION not theirs.

Re: Anyone repeat A&P?

In my school we had A&P broken down into 2 semesters..passed A&P1 and had to retake A&P2 for a higher grade to stay in the RN program. So dont feel bad..and actually retaking it helped me in the nursing program because I remembered the A&P part of nursing better. Good Luck!
