Anyone feel this way?

I have recently been to the doctor due to a migraine I have been having for 5 days. I found my BP to be up and needed labs drawn for routine blood work. So needless to say I have seem my doc more this week than in the past year. I generally do not go see him unless necessary.
I know I am a student nurse but I graduate in 7 weeks. So I can't be that ignorant regarding healthcare. But when I go see my primary I feel like the biggest idiot. I always seem to ask questions that I should be well aware of.

Anyone else have this happen?

Re: Anyone feel this way?

When we go to the doctor for ourselves, we are not nurses but patients. If a doctor were to tell me "You're a nurse, you should know this," I would be finding another doctor fast.

Just an added note: My doctor has never made me feel bad for my questions. I just found myself asking about side effects of beta adrenergics and I have a cadiac test next week.

Re: Anyone feel this way?

I repeat: when we are the pt we should not be expected to think as nurses. Also, no nurse knows the side effects of every medication.

Re: Anyone feel this way?

After 6 years of being a nurse I still feel that way sometimes in the Drs. office. Even more so now that I have a child and go in to see the pediatrician.
