Alternate Entry Msn Program????????

Has anyone participated / completed / or know someone that has been in the alternate entry MSN program????

Its a program targeted for people who has a 4 year college degree in a non-nursing major in which the student will obtain its RN licensure as well as a master's in nursing.

I'm really thinking about applying to this program and I would like to discuss pros and cons with those who are familiar with the program. Thanks!

Re: Alternate Entry Msn Program????????

There are TONS of post here about Directy-entry Masters programs! We could write a how-to/FAQ guide from all the threads on allnurses.

Search for posts by elizabells and elkmnin06.

I start one in May of 2007 in Ohio.

Re: Alternate Entry Msn Program????????

I have worked with quite a few nurses who have completed the program. They jump into a big world with their master's degree without a lot of experience as a nurse. They become great nurses, but it does take time to gain experience on a regular med/surg or equivalent floor before taking a clinical nurse specialist position. Just my
