I take adderall. It has no mental effects other than to make me alert
and focused.

Would I be able to take it while working as a nurse, or would I be considered "under the influence"?

As long as it is prescribed for you, it should not be a problem. You will need to disclose that you are on it if you are drug screened, but again, as long as it's legitimately prescribed to you, it shouldn't be a problem.

If you need it to stay focused, then my opinion is that you will probably function much better with it.

What exactly "impariment" entails which meds cause impairment is defined by the indiviudal BON's. Best to find out from your Board of Nursing.
