Re: working through fiance visa how's dat?

This USCIS website might give you the information that you need. But consulting a reputable immigration lawyer might be of big help. If you got your Nursing degree from the Philippines, then you are still considered a foreign graduate and even if you marry a US Citizen, you will still have to be evaluated as a foreign applicant/graduate. But since your fiancé will petition you and eventually you will get your legitimate immig documents (and you can also get a Social Security Card once your petition has been approved and you already have the legitimate docs), then you can also get your actual nursing license (because most US States will not issue the actual license unless you have a valid US Social Security Number) and legally work.

Re: working through fiance visa how's dat?

Question is concering licensure issues.
------------------------------------------
You do not need the English exams, unless the state where you are going to be working requires them. You do not need the VSC, as you are not applying for a visa on your own, but are being petitioned by a fiance.

You will only need to pass the NCLEX exam, so it depends on the state that you are wanting to work under as far as what their requirements are for licensure.

That is all that you will need to do.

Re: working through fiance visa how's dat?

Thread moved to the International Forum since it is specific to working in the US as an international nurse.
