What to do now????Any suggestions pls

With the retrogression looming, what are we supposed to do now? Any helpful idea pls....

PLUS--Time frame is about 14 months to complete the immigration process. Most USRN licenses need to be renewed 2 years after issuance but we do not have SSN needed for renewal, so we will all be holding expired licenses by then. No big deal, you think?

Are nurses still in demand these days. I've been doing jobsearching for two weeks now and offers have always come from agencies who require hospital experience. And ithought I read from here that experience is not needed...

Anybody who knows of hospitals that do direct hiring of foreign trained nurses????

Thanks

Re: What to do now????Any suggestions pls

thanks for your reply.

I just found a hospital in CA willing to petition foreign-educated nurses like me. My license is yet to be issued by Illinois BON having passed the nClex only recently. Would you know if it's possible to apply for endorsement this early? That hospital requires CA license for it to start considering my application.

Thanks

You should be able to endorse but not sure if you will have a problem as you don't have a SSN but CA should give you a letter confirming registration and give you the license once you give them your SSN which you apply for once in the US and can prove you are there legally

Good luck

With ou a SSN, Ca will not give a hard copy license.

Just complete everything that are necessary for immigration because by the time the retrogression is lifted then all you have to do is wait for your interview date. AS the Boy Scouts say, "Be Prepared."

Re: What to do now????Any suggestions pls

This retrogression thing really makes me sick. The Oct. Visa Bulletin is out already but not much of an info. given there. The best guess is that visa will run out starting November.

My real problem is I will have to go the US for several interviews already set but since visa is running out, I have to go back to the Philippines and arrange everything from here.

I am a month short from everything. If I started a month earlier, I could have made it to this batch of visas.

Now, lesson learnt. Start everything as early as possible. Do not delay unless you have good reasons to. A month of delay could mean a lot of difference.

Rep,

nursecpa did not took the NCLEX in CALIFORNIA, she took it from ILLINOIS
and then plans to endorse it to CA upon receipt of her license from ILLINOIS.

nursecpa - sure you can proceed with your processing, have you got your visascreen and other requirements that the hospital will be asking for you? have you decided if you will hire a lawyer or they will recommend someone from california.

Many things to consider.

Have a nice day,

Well, my mistake for not reading well. anyway, California will not issue the license to her even by endorsement unless she has a SSN.
