In order for you to have been able to write the CGFNS exam, it means that you wrote and passed the NLE. So you are going to have to have that license verified as well.

The application for the VSC states that you have to include all licenses, not just what you have for the US. And even if you worked in any other countries, that also needs to be included with that application. And those licenses verified.

my status says that the certificate has already been mailed last January 31, 2008 but i haven't received the certificate yet. i have emailed CGFNS twice but to no avail. for Philippine nurses, does it really take this long for the certificate to come? i asked for a tracking number and the name of the courier (if they do give out those information) so i'd be able to track the certificate.

It took it 9 days from the time they mailed my certificate until i received it from the courier (UPS-2Go). You should be able to track the document with the tracking number they provide (the tracking number for my package was posted on my online account next to "Issued Certificate"). They also sent this notification to the email address I enlisted.

thank you nowhere. i checked my online account and i did not see a tracking number next to Issued Certificate. the only thing written was the mailed date. i will try to email CGFNS again regarding this, maybe it was just overlooked. thanks again.

If they have it, then it does not need to be sent again. You must have results of exams/licensure forwarded to them. No licensing authority can just release results without your written permission, and they usually charge a fee to do this. CA charges $60 US for it.

Welcome to the site

How long ago did you pass CGFNS exam? The only other requirement for VSC is pass in NCLEX and this these days are what employers are looking for when offering job. Also with retrogression you are looking at years before getting a visa to work in the US and currently we are hearing of employers not looking at foreign nurses due to the delay in not knowing how long it will be before you are over there working

1. No, you do not have to get another CG certificate.

2. Pls. go to www.cgfns.org and read their latest Handbook for 2008.

- It needs transcript evaluation so will have to let your school send your transcripts BUT if you already have your transcripts evaluated already from another CGNFS service such as from CGFNS certification or CGFNS' CES program then you do not have to do it again since they already have a previous evaluation of your transcripts. Provide your CGFNS ID # in your Visa Screen Application Form to facilitate this and answer what service you have availed from CGFNS before if asked in the form.

The Visa screen Certification program now has a 1 year deadline to send in all reqt's, and in your case the IELTS results, so would recommend that you take the IELTS exam first and pass it before applying for the Visa Screen Certification. Had reports of the Visa Screen application expiring after 1 year when the applicant could not pass the IELTS within the 1 year period.

3. Yes, it's ok to pay via bank draft. Do the same procedure as before when you applied for the CGFNS certification. I recommend providing your credit card number instead (if applicable) for safety. If you choose bank draft, I recommend sending your application form via Fedex or DHL for safety as well. There has been reports of mails containing bank drafts never reaching their destination.
