If you say you had E3 applicants in India, they have been in actual fact applying for EB3.

Hope this makes sense
In the realm of green cards, those of you that are nurses are in the third preference which is the EB-3 category in actual terms per what is on the US State Dept website. The E-3 in actuality is not an immigrant visa, but is for those from Australia wishing for a treaty visa. I am sure that it causes some confusion, but this is what it comes down to.

Those in India that are listed as the E-3 are actually under the EB-3, which is the third preference category when petitioned by an employer.

If you look at the list of different petitions that are available, and their classifications, it is called the EB-3, not the E-3.

Re: VISA APPOINTMENTS...Confused..Help pls..

The bigger issue is that there are only a small amount of interviews scheduled. The majority of these 140,000 recapped visas are going to be going to those that are already in the US and under the H1-B visa that have been in line for their PD date to be current. The fees for immigraiton are going up 80% at the end of July, so this is more of a push for companies to get their employees thru.

If you do not already have approval of the DS-230 and were just in-line waiting for an appt when the retrogression hit, it is gong to be impossible to get a visa from this group.

Remember in April in the US when they opened up for accepting H1-B visas, there were more than 150,000 petitions in just a couple of hours and then they were gone.

Thank you Suzanne for explaining that.
According to my Hospital, my next step is to get Choice of agent form and then pay the visa fee. DS230 was submitted before retrogression hit, it seems. So, can I consider my DS230 approved? Will I be able to get a visa interview..? What do u think?
Thanking you advance for your reply.

DS230 is not requested until after you have paid visa fee bill.

There, you heard it from Suzanne4 herself. Speculating and fretting endlessly is futile. Gazillions are waiting like the hordes of Genghis Khan to claim those visas.

That is one of the problems with visa limits...
