TOEFL versus IELTS in illinois....

Im a bit confused about this. Are there any filipino nurses here who could help me from their experiences? For eligibility... some are saying that Filipinos are excempted for the toefl... because of the books and instructions used are in english... but for visa screening ielts is accepted... ?I just need some thoughts about this...

thank you

Re: TOEFL versus IELTS in illinois....

For eligibility to sit for the NCLEX for IL nurse licensure, one of the requirements of IDFPR is TOEFL alongside the CES (Credentials Evaluation Service, a service of the CGFNS). As long as your CES states that the medium of instruction in your nursing education is English, you don't need TOEFL.

For the Visa Screen (which is another service of CGFNS and for immigration purposes), IELTS or TOEFL is acceptable.

RN Licensure is handled by the Board of Nursing and is totally different from Visa Screen of the CGFNS.

I suggest you check out these forums to erase your confusion:
