:groupwelcome: Can you give us a bit more details on where you want to live? That would help in finding a hospital willing to petition you. The other option is to contact hospitals in the area you want to live to see if they are willing to petition you. Best not use the word sponser.

Just work and gain clinical experience and be productive nurses. If you havent taken any US exams yet, take time to pass it all.Make yourself busy so you wont feel the time for waiting the next batch of visas.Time flies you know.Worrying and feeling frustrated cant do anything good. You have many choices. You can go to other rich English speaking countries who need Filipino nurses, just try to gain experience and pass the IELTS..

Have you taken the English exams and have you applied for a Visa Screen Certificate? And as asked before, where do you wish to work?

Congratulations on passing the NCLEX-RN exam.!!!!!

Count me in guys! It's all about the timing, I got here at the wrong time. But I believe that this retrogression thing will be just for a few months. There's always light at the end of the tunnel, right? (fingers crossed)

Yes, every foreign nurse should see things half-full instead of half-empty.

The last retrogresion only lasted 6-7 months before it was lifted. Foreign nurses should just just keep accomplishing all necessary exams and req'ts during these times.

For those still searching an employer to petition them - don't rush on signing anything this Oct. Been hearing that some agencies are rushing prospective client's to sign and their excuse is the retrogression.

If you are going to sign - sign for an employer you really want and not just sign for the sake of being petitioned at the soonest possible time. Most of I know that got petitoned via CP in mid-2006 aren't even scheduled for interview in the US Embassy in Manila or if with a schedule, will not be interviewed before Nov. 1 and they wished they should have just signed to an employer they want in the 1st place. Now they are stuck w/ an agency they really do not like in the first place and they still got caught with retrogression.

Well my I-140 is being prepared for filing as we speak & if I've read the recent bulletin correctly it's not just the PIC countries that are affected this time.

I'm hoping that by the time all my papers are sorted something will have been done to ease the situation & I'lll still be in the USA within the usual 12 month(ish) time it normally takes from the UK once you've passed N-CLEX & started the immigration process!

Hi. As you said it only took an average of 6 mos. before it was lifted but is the case similar to the situation now? Right now, as ms. suzanne keeps on telling, everybody's busy preparing for the upcoming elections yada yada... So I guess 6 mos. is just a dream (sigh)

I remember that it hit us on October 2004. Then it was lifted on July 2005 after Bush signed a bill for the recapture of visas in May. You can expect something by the summer of next year.

Well, I feel so depressed! Just collected my packet 4 on the 29th of oct and they regretted to inform me that my priority date fell on oct 3rd. Just two days are going to change everything for me
