Hello nursedandy!

Thank you very much for sharing and for wishing me luck. I guess it's way past 3 days already, I'll just check with my employer.

Time between the notice of receipt(PD) and RFE request: Approximately 8 months

I don't know how much time is it going to take for them to arrive at a decision or look into my case when they have received the things that they requested. I hope it won't be another 8 months...
Did you notice any LUD's (last update date) prior to receiving the RFE on Feburary 27th? If yes, when was the last LUD prior to the RFE?

We had a couple of updates on our application back in January and our PD is later than yours (July 19th) but nothing since, and no RFE yet either. Just interested in seeing other peoples experiences although they seem to vary a lot. We are still glad though that we are in Texas as it seems things are a lot slower in Nebraska. Right now we are interested in purchasing a home as prices are really dropping in Arizona but it seems lenders are wanting to see that the green card petition is approved prior to proceeding so would be nice to get this step out of the way.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean but if you are talking about USCIS PROCESSING TIMES update, it seems that they are delayed in posting updates and they are fond of antedating it(posting like 15th when they actually posted it on the 25-30th of the month). Let's see what happens with the next update when it gets posted.

There are even "subtle changes" if one really checks it on a daily basis, like a slow movement of dates but they seem delayed too, like once they posted they are processing June 21, I waited, nothing happened, then June 23, nothing happend until I called to follow up on Feb 28(RP time/GMT +8), where they said they sent an RFE, funny because I checked earlier that day, it wasn't updated.

There are really strange things happening, even at the USCIS level. After what happened with the July 2007 Visa bulletin, I'm no longer surprised with these things. I think they were severely affected by the sudden increase of applicants(getting an all-time high that time, I think it maybe recorded on the Guinness book of world records).

If you are talking about personal case update, there was none. Pending, then just RFE. Frustrating actually, but there is nothing that we can do. That's just how things are. We are at their mercy but let us not question the will of God. He lets things happen for a reason, but we cannot understand His infinite wisdom. Let us just trust Him completely. Let His will be done at all times.

Are you in the USA? AOS? What is your current visa or status?

Indeed, it would be the second best thing that could happen for a Filipino nurse applicant(greencard is next to US citizenship).

By the way, I heard some news in the CNN about individuals who lend money to help others in debt, there were two websites given which I forgot, sorry...Anyway, maybe they could help you in buying a house.

May God bless us all!

Re: I140 Texas Center

PD of 2008, are you sure that you do not mean 2007? Those dates are not written in stone, you do not get notified the day that they do something. And it is not exact either, they were given additional thousands during that time due to the fiasco last summer. It means that they can be working on yours now, but I would not do anything further at this time.

But even if you get the I-140 approved now, you are still under the retrogression and nothing will move any further. The I-140 is also just for the job approval, not the approval on your background.

And as we have mentioned in another thread, the government is moving people around to take care of those to get citizenship here so that they can vote if they have had pending applications for citizenship. So we are expecting to see delays once again.

Re: I140 Texas Center

Texas SC just updated their processing dates. It is Aug. 15 2007 for I-140s but like Suzanne said it not carved in stone. The usual processing time for TSC is 6-8 mos.

Yes I was referring to the personal case update date. Did you notice the processing time is now August 15, 2007? Hopefully that means things will start happening soon.

My PD date is July 19 and I have noticed in a thread you might want to refer to called the "Texas Service Center Tracker for I-140" that some have been processed in Texas right on the 6 months and then there are those of us who are waiting longer than 8 months already but compared to the waits in the Nebraska Center I would not worry. As Suzanne stated it is only a rough guideline and nothing set in stone. My husband called and they have a 30 day window from the date of your PD so in your case it would be August 27 and since it is only August 15 it is close but not quite there. We are only off by a few days but not within the 30 day window either. They also mentioned that they may also have a window counting from the receipt date as opposed to the PD date which in our case wasn't until Sept 11. So try not to worry. I realize even when the I-140 gets it approved it only means the job has been approved but it does have implications to other parts of life that some people don't realize. We are in the process of seeking a mortgage and our lender does not want to proceed until the I-140 has been approved which is part of the anxiety but nothing you can do but wait.
