hi everyone! i need help! which hospitals offer sponsorship in CA? i'm a new grad from a nursing school here in southern california. i need a sponsorship so i could stay here and work. i need pay back huge huge loans, help my family back home and start saving $$. i just passed the nclex and got my RN license last month. i'm looking for a hospital that can sponsor and provide new grad training also. hopefully, one that has a good working environment and reasonable pay as well. my time and few $$s are running out... help!

PS: i don't mind relocating to other places/states too, if they would offer what i'm looking for..

I assumed you don't have a permanent visa or a work visa? that means you have to go home and re-aapply for working visa just like anybody else..other wise, you might wanna call different hundreds of hospitals dyan sa cali..I am sure they might help you ( but they will look for your permanent or workin g visa) won't hurt to try, right? a lot of the hospitals is willing to train new grad with pay...but you have to have the legal paperworks which they are gonna look for. By the way, congratulations for passing the nclex-rn !!!

thanks for the reply and pagbati! i already have an opt and an employment authorization from the ins so i can stay and work here for a year. i'm just not sure which hospitals are offering sponsorship. i have come across a few but as of now they're not into training new grads, most of their programs are not til next year. i'm afraid my opt might expire then. do you know of any hospital with good sponsorship feedback?

you dont have to go back home....do your OPT and file for Adjustment of Status if you are able to find a hospital willing to petition you for your greencard.....

seek advice of a trustworthy and knowledgeable immigration attorney especially in the midst of an upcoming visa retrogression.....goodluck

Ummm...excuse me, she is asking if there are any hospitals who can help her so she can stay here? and I said she can try call hospitals in California, which are like thousands of them? maybe they can help, if she can't....she got no choice but to go back, no working visa? you can't work. IF she can find a hospital I guess she can stay, but what if not?....you are right, she can call an immigration lawyer.but one thing I can tell you, which I am right...NO working visa, You cannot work.and just like everybody else? you have to go home and fix the problem, she cannot overstay, or she will be sent home anyways, and just for your info, RNMD...NOT ALL advise from this site is always 100% correct, okay?

call and write to hospitals. since you have an opt then any hospital can hire you as you have the necessary paperwork. try the hospitals where you did your clinicals. better yet, go to hospitals personally as most will give you an on the spot interview. impress them with your determination.

you wont see anyone here that will post the specific hospital they got hired in, bec im sure everyone will apply to that hospital. haha. you dont need to worry about sponsorship for the moment as you are already allowed to work for a year. i guess what youre worried about is after the year has elapsed. im sure you will find something before your one year is up.

thanks for your reply. i'm having a hard time looking for sponsors right now, i don't know why. i'm not sure if they just don't want to be stuck with me in case retrogression happens after they've spent some time training/precepting me. or maybe they just have a lot of applicants? don't really know.. and some are not hiring new grads til next year, for the new grad training program. do you know any "trustworthy and knowledgeable immigration attorney"? any idea how much does it costs?

thanks for your advise. you're right, my worries are about my long term stay here. i used to get interviews and offers and then learn afterwards that the hospital won't sponsor, or they'll say not this year. so now i just ask about petitioning even before applying, sadly, most of them don't petition.

about specific hospitals, fortunately, i got one CA hospital from someone here. the only thing is their not hiring til feb 07. and i'm so worried about the news on retrogression and how its going to affect everybody. if somebody knows a hospital who is willing to sponsor right here, right now, pls pls pm me. working visas are NOT issued to new grads anymore......
yes you are right that advises here are not 100% correct but if someone is NOT knowledgeable about a certain topic, i suggest he or she refrain from posting here.....YOU are clearly NOT in the best position to advice regarding immigration so i suggest you stop posting unless you want to jeopardize someone's future, okay?......i did AOS so i know what im posting....
