hi everyone!

i'm so glad to be a part of this forum...

i really need help.. i have just graduated and have taken my board exams, currently waiting for the results which will be coming out july ( hope i pass!)... i want to apply for nclex exams but don't know where to start..

i would really appreciate it if anybody can give me a site i can go through (one that is user-friendly) or if anybody can give me guidelines on how to go about it (like requirements needed, where to apply, etc.)..

so we share the same feeling.. waiting for the results is like having an infarct. like feelings of impending doom huh? hehe.. I'm also planning to take the NCLEX regardless of the results but I dont know what to do. hope you can pm me just in case you'll learn about it. thanks!

Check out the sticky in the International forum called Primer to working in the US It has all the information that is required for you to get licensure in the US and being able to sit the NCLEX. Firstly you need to decide on where you want to live in the US and I would then do a search in the international forum for threads for that state and take it from there. There are a couple of states not recommended for initial application the main one being CA as takes several weeks before you get your results plus they do not issue license until you have a valid SSN which you can not get until you are in the US with a valid work permit so anywhere it asks for one just leave it blank.

I would check out the International forum as there will be plenty of information there for you

Hi! I dont know if I posted on the right thread but, Im just wondering how many months would it take If I would go for NY state board? I read it somewhere that CA state board take longer because of a lot of people are taking CA board. Thanks.

which state are you wanting to work? If you go through NY and do CVS but then endorse to another state you will have to follow what ever requirements are for that state ie they will either do their own evaluation like CA or request you have CES done

Hi! Im planning to go for NY, Im really confused specially all those hearsays regarding NCLEX, so glad I discover this site, anyways, I have a follow up question whats the difference between The Special Credentials Verification and Visa Screen Application? Sorry I ask too many questions. Thanks

Are you aware that by all accounts it is very hard to get a hospital in the NY to petition for a GC. Nursing homes are an option but for a foreign nurse it is very hard with large patient workloads and a risk to your license whilst you are getting used to working in a different way.

CVS is a requirement for NY
VSC is a requirement for immigration unless you are entering through a different route ie fiance/marriage

Don't worry about asking questions but would suggest a good read and using the search facility as many questions may have already been asked plus you may find answers to questions you haven't thought off

NY takes longer than CA because of the CVS for NY.
