Hi suzanne,
First, want to thank you for this great service you're doing for everybody.
Just wanna ask, say for example somebody never took the local boards, and passed NCLEX-RN for CA. What is that person supposed to put on his VISASCREEN form? He doesn't have a license yet anywhere. All he got is that letter certifying he passed the NCLEX.

Do not put any license since there is not one in existence. To do so, will take months to straighten out, as they will be waiting for it.
You just need to have CA send in verification that you passed the NCLEX exam, you can use the same form that is included with the VSC application and just send it to Sacramento and they will send it on. Be aware that there is a fee of $60 US to do this. They have to manually look up your file as it is not computerized until you have a SSN# and give it to them.
And, thank you...............

Thanks for the sticky Suzanne4,
My Question is - I will be completing my RN ADN in US next year. my husband is a canadian citizen, when I apply for AOS next year Thru an employer will my husband also get the work permit, under family adjustment as I will include his name in the process. will he get the work permit the same time as me or will it be longer as he will be filed as that he is in canada.
thanks .

Hi Suzanne,
I went to school and got my BSN in the Philippines in 1975. I've been in the us siince 1977, took my board exam in MO,been licensed in VA and CA. I've been working here in CA for the last 15 yrs but now need to move to IL. Do I still have to go through CGFNS to get my IL license by endorsement? It seems so time consuming and expensive to go through it.
HELP!

Illinois requures the CES of all foreign nurses who wish a license there. Even by endorsement. However, you may wish to check with them because of the number of years that you have been working over here, they may waive that for you. It is worth a try, but more than likely, they will still want the CES. With their old requirements, if you had at least two years work experience in the US as an RN, then they waived the CGFNS exam requirement, but now that they have done away with that, they are using the CES for all.
Give it a try, the worst that they can do is say no.

Clarify that with an immigration attorney. Rules are changing all of the time.

Of course it is always okay to go ahead and apply for the Visa Screen Certificate, you do not need an employer for that.
I have never heard of that agency. Will you be their employee? Can you be specific as to where you will work, or do they decide? Will you take the NCLEX exam before coming over to the US? Or once you are here?

If I may answer. I was interviewed by a USSI recruiter in Manila. I was about to sign their CONTRACT but an ANGEL in this SITE enlightened me (thanks to Suzanne ), so I declined the offer. USSI is a very BIG staffing firm. Their cancellation fee is $ _ _ _ _ _ . Wheeeeew. Just PM me if you want to learn more. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the cancellation prize.
So now, I'm still looking for the BEST FACILITY/agency preferably in Florida or Maryland area. Hope another angel visit me again......

Hi Suzanne, I posted this somewhere else but I'm reposting it here because i thought you might not read that thing wherever it was...
i've a question about simultaneous filing of the I-140 and the 485 (the AOS) and the 765 (EAD), the USCIS guidelines state that they allow this only if there is a visa number immediately available. At this time while the last few of the 50 thousand Schedule A visas are running out, the EAD and the subsequent legal stay is issued in about 2and a half months right? What happens when retrogression kicks in? That means no visa numbers immediately available (E3 Category). Does that mean nobody can file for simultaneous EAD's anymore? And does that mean one can't stay legally in the US anymore pending the I-140's approval?
Also, how long do they give you after filing the I 140 to send them your VSC? I mean how long do they wait until they deny you if you dont send them the VSC?
