And also I am hearing lot of news that retrogression is going to be lifted, please let me know is there any update on this.

i am a 1993 graduate, passed the local board but never had the chance to work...my hubby filed my petition Jan. 2006(F2A visa) that gives me 3-4 yrs to wait for the approval.i am planning to take the nclex instead of waiting but reading all these threads frightens me because of the many preparations and the fact that i lack the needed experience and the "feeling" of being left-behind.what should i do?should i wait or take the nclex here?i have reasons(personal)...why i wanted to go to the US, by myself.i'm quite confused!
please help me enlighten my decisions so i won't regret later on.....
That is for you to decide, but be aware that even if you get that visa to come to the US, you cannot work with it, and there are no visas available here at this time to adjust to.

You will have to take the time to do some reading here, but be aware that I provide information, I do not enlighten as that is something that Buddha does, at least as far as I know. Sorry to be so picky on this but we only see it being used by those from your country and is not used here, you are looking for information.

There is nothing that I can tell you since I do not know you, you are going to have to make the decisions based on what you read here. Graduating that long ago and never having any experience is going to make it very hard for you to get hired here without having some type of refreher course and you cannot get that without a license here in the US.

If I do these two, and decide I want to switch areas in Australia, is there recipriocity ( do I just pay the smaller sum to the new state, or do I have to start the whole process again? thanks for your help suzanne
As far as I remember, you would complete the licensing for the one state, and then endorse like we do in the US and in Canada for the other states.
You should not have to start the process all over again from the beginning.

Question: I am on F2 visa (dependent student visa). I have passed NCLEX and want to find a job, preferably in NY. I am undergoing a process to get a Visa Screen Certificate, passed TOEFL and the rest. My wife (F1 visa student) is doing her PHD.

1. How can I get a job and/or green card? What should I do?
2. Is it better for me to go for MSN right since it is retrogression. i.e. be on F1 visa to get OPT.
3. Should I go thru to get Visa Screen Certificate

thanks in advance.

There is not one thing that you can do at this time to be able to work there, no visas available at this time and we do not know when they will become available. Best guess is several years for the AOS.
As far as getting the MSN, depends on your country of birth as to whether it will be beneficial to you or not and speed things up for you as far as being able to get a visa earlier.

You are correct that you need the F-1 for the OPT at the end of the training.

Sure, you can get the VSC now as it is required for any AOS petitioning, but you need to be very aware that there are no jobs available now so there is no way for you to work at this time. We also do not expect that route to open up for several years due to the large number of applicants last summer.

The F-1 will only get you the OPT for one year, we still do not know what will be happening after that, you need to be aware of the fact that there are no guarantees at this time about being able to work when you are done. Also depends on country of birth as well.

The retrogression is far from being lifted and if you look at the dates for the current PD for those from your country, you will find that they are still several years out due to the number of applicants that are from there.

And the worst thing that you can do is to have multiple I-140s submitted by different companies. You are only permitted to have one immigrant visa submitted or pending, meaning that if immigration catches you, they will cancel all of them. And be aware that filing does not come cheap, the agency would be paying for you and if you cancel from them or get denied because of multiple petitions they are going to come after you for a large sum of money. There are already outrageous bonds from many agencies that recruit from your country to the tune of about $20,000 US payable before you leave the country. I seriously doubt that they would be happy with anything like this at all.

You will have to sit for either the iBT or the IELTS exams, there is no way to get around them since they base the requirement on where you did your basic nurses training and attending English courses here does not waive the requirenment.

You will need to get the CES, which is a credentials eval done by CGFNS before NJ will even look at your application for licensure. Please be aware that even with getting the NCLEX-RN exam passed, completing the Englsih requirements as well as getting the Visa Screen Certificate, we do not have any visas available at this time for you to adjust to. Getting a job offer, will not get one a visa right now and you are looking at several years for that.

Unhappy Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Hi Miss Suzanne,

I have read in some threads that you are only given a DS230 form if your PD becomes current? Please Help me on this.....

You see when I was approved last 2006, the hospital attached a DS230 form right away on the e.mail that they have sent me. Unfortunately at that time, I am still waiting for my VISA SCREEN to be approved.. Once it was approved, I sent the form already to the hospital and to the immigration lawyer...

Last year the lawyer told me that he received a letter from NVC asking to reconstitute the papers and asked me to send a new DS230 filled up form...what does this mean? I thought DS230 is asked to be filled up once my PD becomes current?

I just want this to be clarified, for right now, I am married and since my PD is not yet current, could I still bring my wife with me?
I informed the lawyer of my ongoing marriage the time he asked me to send a new set of DS230....

Miss Suzanne, I'm really not well versed on immigration and I don't want to leave my wife behind for she have been through a lot last year(tragic circumstances)...

Could I still bring my wife with me? If I change the new DS230 now and include her in my petition? I have read in some threads that it will be possible that she won't be included if I have filled up the DS230 form already....
But I thought it will be filled up once the PD is current?

Hope to hear your response on this.....

Thanks a lot...
