Re: Questions for Suzanne4

I've been reading a few threads today and it got me thinking(always a dangerous thing!)If i was thinking of emigrating, apart from my current registration would really have nothing to prove my training.I trained in traditional style, college and work based training but I have no transcript of training hours and the college has long since gone because training is now uni -based.Would that mean that 30 years experience would be down the drain because I could not prove training?

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Slow down and take a deep breath. There are many that are in the same boat as you and it can be readily solved. And is done all of the time.

The NMC normally has records of all school programs that were held in your country, and all you would need is verification from someone that you attended during that time. Instructor perferred, but someone else in class can work as well. You also have RN1 status, and in order to get that, you had to meet the requirements for the RN, and you had hours in all areas back then.

If you decide that you wish to cross the pond, I promise to help you with what ever you will need to do.

Deal?

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Cheers Suzanne,it was just a theoretical question.I have no plans for emigrating .....yet!It's nice to know the answer however.I would hazard a guess that most of my instructors have gone to the great hospital in the sky by now but there are still a few of my class mates around.

(((((((((((((((((((((hugs to you)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
There are always creative things to do in this case and have been quite successful in helping others get thru it.

If and when you decide, just let me know.

The one thing that you have more in your favor is that your training covered everything and with more than enough hours in all areas.

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

hello suzanne4

I applied a nclex exam under texas board of nursing. i've completed all thier
requirements, but since the application is valid for a year, i didn't registered to pearson vue until on 11th month. now, i received my ATT but it is only valid for 2 months. so i really need to book my exam within that date. does this one normally happen? can i make an appeal to extend it for at least 3 to 6 months?
your answer will be greatly appreaciated.

thank you very much,

elma

ATT's can have a different valid date to eligibility. Because you have registered with pearsonvue and they have sent it you have to take it within that time, I doubt you can extend it. If you don't use it within that time then I think you have to pay again to pearsonvue

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

ATTs are never given extensions and this is why we always state over and over again never to register with Pearson-Vue until you know that you are ready to test. Average length of time is only three months, and some can be less.

But if you do not test during the time that it is valid for, you will be paying the fees to Texas again as well as to Pearson-Vue.

I would recommend taking the test before the expiration time or you will be forfeiting the money.

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

whoah!i've been reading all these threads but it seems i just can't absorb them...can't get the exact answer to my questions!will you please help me???
i am a 1993 graduate, passed the local board but never had the chance to work...my hubby filed my petition Jan. 2006(F2A visa) that gives me 3-4 yrs to wait for the approval.i am planning to take the nclex instead of waiting but reading all these threads frightens me because of the many preparations and the fact that i lack the needed experience and the "feeling" of being left-behind.what should i do?should i wait or take the nclex here?i have reasons(personal)...why i wanted to go to the US, by myself.i'm quite confused!
please help me enlighten my decisions so i won't regret later on.....

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

A quick question about registering in Australia. Hope this is the right place to ask! I'm from the UK and looking to start in Adelaide. I have one set of forms with a fee attached of 600 Australian dollars (approx)that is more to do with assessment of nursing regarding visas, and another set for Adelaide for 120 Australian dollars. If I do these two, and decide I want to switch areas in Australia, is there recipriocity ( do I just pay the smaller sum to the new state, or do I have to start the whole process again? thanks for your help suzanne

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Thanks Suzanne4 for keeping us updated.
Question: I am on F2 visa (dependent student visa). I have passed NCLEX and want to find a job, preferably in NY. I am undergoing a process to get a Visa Screen Certificate, passed TOEFL and the rest. My wife (F1 visa student) is doing her PHD.

1. How can I get a job and/or green card? What should I do?
2. Is it better for me to go for MSN right since it is retrogression. i.e. be on F1 visa to get OPT.
3. Should I go thru to get Visa Screen Certificate

thanks in advance.
