Does not matter if you send your papers now, but VT is going to need actual proof of the license.

Please look for threads here that are already containing the information that you are asking about and specific to working in VT.

And what is the issue if they require the CES? It is only a credentials review or assessment. There is also a retrogression in place now, so nothing is going to get you to the US quickly.

Your help is highy appreciated! Thanks & take care!
There are many threads here about working in VT, please look for those or go to the website for VT BON. You can easily find this information directly there.

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

thanks suzanne well I'm not in a hurry to go to the states..my only dilemma is that if VT could require the CES and its quite expensive around $350 and right now VT doesn't require this that's why I'm in ahurry to take the NCLEX for VT so that there won't be an added expense on my part.. and i know eventually CES would be required for work but I could have the money then.. but particularly these times.. I've got a budget.. so that's it.. don't assume everybody's in ahurry to go the US as it's kinda offensive but anyhoo that's your job honey! kisses xoxo

hello suzanne

i need your help. i had applied for licensure by examination (nclex) in north carollina they require CES report from CGFNS i got my report done and sent it to nc board of nursing .then thay said i have to take toefl. but the problem is i am not geeting the score in TOEFL. Now one of my friend told me if you apply for NY state you don't need to take TOEFL or any english language exam . So. i have apply for NY state licence and they need CVS report from CGFNS so i also have applied for that report . CGFNS says, it will take 6 month and then NY state will take 2 month to get my eligibility for NCLEX. But i want to know ,is it true that NY state dont't need english language exam .because, after 8 month if they ask me to passed english exam and get score that means i wasted my time .so i want to make sure before i waste my time

please, help me

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Is this the first time that you are submitting the DS-230? Do you already have approval on a DS-230 in the past and this is just an updated one that they need?

It will depend significantly if you had a completed file already or not. Unable to tell you more without knowing what the status is on your file. Having a current PD date will not get one in line for a visa if their file is not already complete.

You are going to need to pass the English exams to get a visa to be able to work in the US. I would focus on passing of the exam before you do anything. You need a good, solid English to be able to have a better chance of passing the NCLEX exam as well.

And are you aware that as a foreign trained nurse, you are going to find it quite difficult to get an employer in NY? Actually average wait time for NY is about 8 months or so before you will be able to test, and that still will not get you a license where you want as you will need to meet their requirements as well for endorsement.

If you are not going to be working in NY, then there was no reason to go thru there for licensure. Actually, there are many states that do not require the language exam for licensure as they know that you are going to need to pass it to get the visa. No way around that at all, but you may have spent alot of money and it will not benefit you at all.

Those dates are not written in stone first of all.

But we do know for a fact that many employees have been pulled to focus on getting the citizenship papers completed for those that are in the US with green cards for five years so that they can vote in this upcoming election. That has been discussed all over.

This can directly be influencing it.
