Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Suzanne, ...ive a question.

Im a BSN grad from the Phils, and just passed the NCLEX-RN for California last April 10. I am done with IELTS and now I wonder how to do the Visascreen. My question is, since i never took the local boards, i dont have a license in the phils...and CA wont issue me a license yet either...I dont have an SS number.
Does this necessarily disqualify me from getting a visascreen since I dont have any licenses and cant submit anything on the form asking about those?

If not, what am I to do? (Submit a blank form?) I badly need your help...thank you Ms. Suzanne.

Re: Questions for Suzanne4

maybe Suzanne forgot to read my question for her. I'll post it again. Thanks in advance Suzanne.

Hello Suzanne,

I've posted a thread in International forums and it seems like no one dared to answer my questions. LOL! Anyways, here it goes. My situation right now is more of a dilemma to me. Btw, I'm from the Philippines. I received my visa three weeks ago and am planning to go directly to California and wait for my IP instead of staying here in the Philippines. But when I told my employer about my plans, he told me to just wait for their word on when will be the right time to go to US. They said that they have to fix some issues with the US embassy here so as not to complicate things. They told me that once I pursue with my plan on going to US, I will be denied at the port of entry. My question is that, what will happen to me when my visa expires and I wasnt able to go during the validity date of my visa? Will it be possible if I look for other employers before my visa expires? Will I be denied of entry if I go to US now? I have successfully complied with all their requirements for employment but this is not my problem anymore, it's my employers. What shall I do Ms. Suzanne? Please help me. Please.

Vermont does require a local license or reason why you were unable to take it. Since she took it, she will need to wait for the results before Vermont will do anything. You need to put on the application that she is pending results of that exam. You must state that she took the exam, you cannot with hold that information from the application.

Use the form that was in your packet for the Visa Screen application and have CA BRN fill it out for you, verifying that you have indeed passed the NCLEX-RN exam. They do charge $60 US for that. That is all that needs to be done.

Visa Screen does not require a license, only that you passed either the CGFNS exam or the NCLEX-RN exam. It does not require a license in your home country either.

Something sounds very fishy to me. If you have the visa, you should be okay to go to the US. Which agency did you sign with?

First, you have gone thru your interview at the US Embassy and were issued a visa for travel to the US? Not sure why they are telling you that you will be denied entry, unless they have screwed up with immigration and are not being honest with you. But once you have that visa, from US immigration and it is in your possession; and get to the US, the green card will be yours. Your agency has the responsibility to be honest with you, especially if they lied to immigration.

Please send me a pm with their name. They need to go on my hit list.

Yuo can only get quick results if Illinois participates in that with Pearson-Vue. Not all states do.

And no you cannot endorse immediately, you will not have a license to endorse until you have a SSN#. Most states do not require experience to endorse, Illinois actually did, to get the CGFNS exam waived, of two years. But that went away when they stipped requiring the CGFNS exam.

You need a SSN# for Illinois to issue you a license, as well as for NC to issue you one.

anyhoo, i have a couple of questions to ask:

1.) is there reciprocity between NY and CA?

2.) is it ok if i mail my application to the CVS, NY BON, and visa screen simultaneously? or is there an order for mailing the three forms?

3.) in the NY application form, what do i check under the citizenship/immigration status? (i'm a foreign grad (phils) and i haven't applied for immigration yet)

4.) i just got my license and i don't have any work experience, is it ok if i just put "0" in the no. of years experience in the preliminary information?

thank you very much! you've been a great help =)
NCLEX exam has reciprocity, the license does not. You will need to apply for a License by Endorsement once you get the NY license.

Yes, you can send all three applications at the same time.

For NY, just put that you are in the process of applying for permanent residency and include a copy of your passport. They just want to maek sure that you are legal someplace.

You need to contact them, but I would personally forget about that exam and concentrate on the NCLEX-RN exam. CGFNS exam will not give you a license, but the NCLEX-RN exam will.
