Re: Questions for Suzanne4

Hi Suzanne,
I am also interested in finding out more about the new "perks" you mentioned - the one about having the petition approved in 14 days for the additional charge. Where can I check this out and how can I be informed if it goes into effect for nurses?
Thanks again.

hi suzanne,
i actually intend on applying for NCLEX either in Nevada or Oregon since its the nearest state to California... I am following your advice on not pursuing California since it takes a long time to process. From the 2 states (Oregon and Nevada) which do you suggest is better? Also I am having a difficulty in getting a form for Oregon cause none is available in their site the closest form I got for an RN is for re- examination... can you advice me a link to get the Oregon RN Form? Thanks!

Hello Ms. Suzanne,
Question 1:
I have read somewhere in this forum that in order to comply with the law for adjustment of status, it is absolutely forbidden for one to engage in any kind of work during and up to the time an employer's work petition is filed for you...I wanted to ask if that includes a restriction against volunteer work? You know, like work for charity? (like American red cross or something like that?) I guess what i mean to ask is if the restriction is against paid work only?
Question 2:
Does starting the Visascreen process while in the country of origin (before leaving for the US) put any hope of eventually adjusting one's status (AOS, obeying the rules) in the US in jeopardy? I mean, when you enter immigration at the port of entry, theyll ask you if you intend to immigrate right? Can they access your Visascreen application? If they can, will they deny you entry on the grounds that the Visascreen thing is understood to be intent to immigrate? I might not have intent to immigrate right now but i dont want to abandon that option later while Im in the US..
Thanks a lot...and im looking forward to your reply to my other query too posted earlier in this thread...

Just ansswer the question with what you are being asked. It is asking if you owe any child support, you do not. It is asking if you owe any taxes to VT, you do not, etc.
Yes, im using Vermont for my initial licensure. My plan is after getting my Vermont license, i will seek endorsement from other state. Is that possible?
The one month waiting time for issunace of license is not a problem.
Thanks

Sorry for posting this in 2 places Suzanne i posted it on the boards then realised it may be better as a question for you but didnt know how to take it off the board LOL!!!
I am wondering a few things, firstly........
What does the CES report from cgfns look like? Does it just say yes or no to being allowed to sit nclex or does it detail exactly what you do and do not have and what you need to make up in order to sit nclex.
Also once your CES report is issued and you make up the hours you have to, am I right you get your school hwere you made up hours to submit the transcripts to CES and they issue you with a form that gives permission to sit nclex? Is ther a time limit in which i have to make up hours? How long do they hold CES report open for to add in hours? Is there a fee to add in hours made up?
Once you get this form from cgfns and apply to the BON (for me NJ) how long till I get to sit nclex?
As always thanks for the help guys.

The IELTS will be the easiest for you in terms of the speaking section. And that you will need for the green card/Visa Screen Certificate.
Some schools may require that you also complete the TOEFL exam, it will be up to the school as to what the accept.

It is a full breakdown of the courses that you have taken, and will give you the ones that you need to make up, as well.
Once you submit the make-up courses, then they will issue you a new CES with the added hours apprearing.
Not sure about NJ processing right now, since they just changed over to not requiring the CGFNS exam, it should be just a few weeks, like it has been in the past.
