Hi were on the same boat, im going to make an explanation letter too...Just state in the letter that although you still haven't got the license, you already passed the NLE board exam that was released just recently and it will take time for you to process it and for the actual license to be released... state there that it will be forwarded to them as soon as you have obtained the license or the certificate of registration....for the mean time include your diploma as your evidence for practice of your profession

just a typical letter with the date on the right upper corner and two spaces below (left hand corner) such is the California Board of Registered Nursing with its address (glimpse at the uppermost part of your application form and you can find their address).

you can state in the first part, "Greetings of love and peace!" (hehe. just a suggestion. i love using this greeting.)

i can't remember the exact words i placed in the letter but I am quite certain that in the first paragraph I stated my name and also stating that I am an aspiring applicant for the NCLEX.

then in the second paragraph, I stated that I would not be able to submit the license at the time being for it is still in process and would be released on (date). Lastly, I stated a promise to submit the authenticated photocopy of my license soon after the release of my license.

i ended my letter with Thank you and God Bless!

hehe. i hope this one helps. i didn't enclosed any additional document along with the letter. i placed it on the 2nd envelope containing the fingerprint etc. good luck! keep safe! be well!

from the word expalanation letter its very easy. you have to be honest with what you put in the letter. thats why you call it expalanation letter.

Sorry, but a letter like this is not acceptable, they need to have written verification sent to them directly from the PRC that you have passed the NLE. They are very aware of how things are done in PI, and are aware of how things are done in your country.

A letter means absolutely nothing to them if you wrote the NLE; if you did not write the exam, then you need a letter as to why you did not require it. But if you tested, then the information must be provided from the PRC that you passed, and willl never be accepted if it comes from you.

the california only ask the fotocopy of the licensa if you passe, i had it and took the cali exam. you dont need to to go to the PRC. my frined who took also the california had her explanation letter that is honest that her license is not yet availble. the califronia replied that once she recieved her license she needs to send a ftocopy.

It is up to them to make the determination, it is always better to have them send the information dirrectly from the PRC.

It also depends on the person that is reviewing your file, but then again, you do not get a license issued until you are in the US and ready to begin work, so no license is actually issued without having that written proof of the license from the PRC.

What does not make sense to me is that even if you are from the US and licensed in another state, verification must come directly from the state where the nurse was initially licensed from of from Nursys. Without that a nurse cannot endorse to CA. And from every other country, they must have proof of their license sent in by their equivalent of a Board of Nursing.

Remember that you were given permission to test, but you do not have an actual license issued to you, and this is a completely different issue. You also need the verification sent by the PRC to CGFNS/ICHP for the Visa Screen Certificate.

Documentation for a country or state is normally not accepted just as a copy of a license from a nurse. And do not know why CA would waive this requirement for someone from PI and not from anywhere else.
