Re: NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Dear all,

I just inquired NVC thru automated response system today regarding my case and they told me that my case has been reviewed but there are missing or incomplete information. They already sent a letter dated Nov. 3, 2005 containing the what are the missing or incomplete documents/information. Does anybody here experience this? Can anybody share what are the usual reasons for this? As far as I know I submitted all the required documentations.

This is to give you an additional background of my case:

USCIS receipt (PD): February, 2004
USCIS approval: April, 2005
NVC receives Packet 3 from lawyer: October 7, 2005
NVC Case Completion: not yet...missing or incomplete information/documents
Receipt of Packet 4: XXXXXXX
Medical: XXXXXXX
Consular interview: XXXXXXX

Anybody here experienced using ds230 forms downloaded from the internet? The ds230 forms we used were downloaded from the internet. Actually, i have received a letter from NVC 1st week of October (the same week when NVC received our packet 3 from the lawyer), the letter contained the ds230 forms for my husband and son to fill out, but since we already submitted the ds230 forms we downloaded from the internet, I just kept the ds230 forms (with barcode) from NVC thinking that forms sent were alright. The letter also contains a front page which states that we must return the page to avoide DELAY in processing. What I did was to email NVC rightaway and this was their reply:

Good afternoon,

To avoid unnecessary delay, please do not send downloaded forms. Copies of downloaded forms may be rejected and/or returned. NVC will send all required documents for completion.

National Visa Center is unable to complete the processing of this case without the requested documentation. Please send the requested documentation to NVC.

Regards,

National Visa Center
MAR8/bcl

Do you think the problem is we used downloaded forms? Anybody here experienced using ds230 forms from the internet? Please enlighten me on this matter.

Thank you.

wellborn

Re: NVC -CP- GC Tracker

Hi Wellborn,

What exactly is the difference from the ds-230 forms that you downloaded from the internet to the ones sent by NVC? My friend is also the same boat as yours.

Question No. 1
Does each of the DS-230 forms for you, your husband and your son conatains a BAR CODE on each form?

Question No. 2
What is contained on the first page that you must include to return together with the rest of the forms to NVC? Is it the page that contains the BAR CODE that was generated from NVC?

Question No. 3
Did you already paid all the NVC fees?

I was thinking that the only reason why there are lacking documents stated by NVC is because you failed to return that page that contains the BAR CODE that was generated by NVC. It is somehow weird when your lawyers did not advise you on that matter.

Hi Still_dale,

Answers:

Q1

The forms we received from NVC doesn't have barcodes, only they originally came from NVC and printed on a crisp, off white piece of paper, the paper that has barcode is the one they require to be sent back. The following are the details found on that paper:

YOU MUST RETURN THIS PAGE WITH YOUR DOCUMENTATION. FAILURE TO DO THIS MAY RESULT IN A DELAY IN PROCESSING YOUR DOCUMENTS. PLEASE ATTACH THIS PAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE DOCUMENTS FOR THIS CASE ONLY AND MAIL (if you are sending information on other cases in the same envelope, you must attach the appropriate barcode sheet to the top of the documentation for each individual case included) TO:

NATIONAL VISA CENTER
32 Rochester Ave
Attn: they put code here (ie., TRK-ML)
Portsmouth, NH 03801

MNL2005xxxxxx
EX
[Barcode Here]

Q2

Please refer to my answer in Q1. Yes, the page that must be returned contains the barcode.

Q3

Our lawyer was the one who paid. I think before packet forms are sent payment should be made 1st, right?

I really want to know in advance what are the possible missing or incomplete information before I will receive the letter from NVC so I can prepare them in advance and cut down some time delay. I was thinking of sending another email to NVC to inquire but I'm hesitant. I begin to think that this is related to my dependents documents because I have an unmarried friend who was filed with mine, whose case is now completed (the ds230 form she used was also downloaded from the internet) .

Hi! Did you send your birth and marriage certificates, police clearance together with your ds-130 forms and bar code sheet?

NVC processes Packet 3 between two to three months if visas are current. You can expect your packet 4 this December.

you and my wife are in the same boat, you're a month ahead, though.
you can call the NVC automated response system. this will give you the info whether your case was forwarded (and when) to the embassy here in manila.

if that should be the case, you can send an email inquiring on your possible interview schedule.

hope you can post some development should you receive any.

good luck to you.

Re: NVC -CP- GC Tracker

My lawyer informed me that NVC was asking if my husband ever used other names because what we filled out in section 2 of DS230 form part I is just N/A;

NVC already reviewed our case but is not complete yet because of this problem. My husband answered N/A but NVC was questioning this. why? any idea? What should be the right answer? I am just wondering why our lawyer did not correct this one in the first place.

When you filled out your Ds230 form, what did you answer under section 2? section 2 is Other Names Used or Aliases (if married woman, give maiden name). I don't have other names used so I answered my maiden name...how about for my husband? is it OK to place NONE or his full name?

We already emailed our lawyer about this but got no reply until now.

Please help me on this...thanks...
