Little Things Mean A Lot - Race Against Time

dear friends,

just wish to share with you the latest CP
bump that my wifey hurdled today:

Passed NCLEX: December 2004
Actual interview by employer: December 2004
USCIS receipt (PD): January, 2005
USCIS approval: May 18, 2005
Fee bill generated: June 27, 2005
Release of VisaScreen: July 2005
Receipt of fee bill by St. Louis (includes payment for dependents): September 1, 2005
NVC forwards Packet 3 to lawyers: September 5, 2005
Packet 3 sent back to NVC: September 20, 2005
NVC receives Packet 3 from lawyers: September 23, 2005

NVC Case Completion: XXXXXXX
Receipt of Packet 4: XXXXXXX
Medical: XXXXXXX
Consular interview: XXXXXXX

please bring out your crystal balls.

let's assume that the P3 is received by NVC after 20 days (around oct 12, estimated shipping period), how long or when do you think the review completion and eventual receipt of P4 in manila will happen?

i know you've been asked this question so many times in different manner and form.

hope you understand. just a bit anxious since the race for the 50K visas seems to be running at a faster pace.

thanks!

Forget the shipping time and send by courier service. You will save yourself several weeks. Definitely worth the expense in my opinion. They can have it by Monday or so of next week.

we always shipped documentes through courier service (ie for NCLEX, VISASCREEN requirements). it's faster, safer.

now i realize the downside to having an agency handling the employment process. they've become a shipping point that prolongs the process a bit.

or will the agency be the one to send the P3 to NVC (and bypass the law firm in the states)?

Depends on the agency and what iniitiative that they take. You can't directly mail the documents yourself?

At least two months or shall we say between two to four months you will receive your packet 4 when visas are current.

Agency Update To Applicant

we went to the agency today. they explained to us regarding the updates in our CP processing.

since we were made to fill up and sign a copy of the DS230 (one for each applicant) 2 months ago, these forms were subsequently submitted to the lawyers in cali.

we were advised that once P3 was received by the lawyers, all our documentary requirements (and signed DS230s) were immediately shipped back to NVC on sep. 20. that's why i edited the timelines in my post above.

so, the wait really begins for us for the processing by NVC and receipt of P4.

rep, i think that's the timeframe we'd be latching our hopes against, 2-4 months. hope there's still crumbs of the 50,000 visas!

nurse dependent,

i am not really sure about this...but my understanding is that the NVC will only send the DS-230 forms once the visa fee is paid. what you filled up is just a copy of the ds-230...the original DS-230 documents from NVC (as i believe contains a SECURITY BAR CODE INFORMATION which is only printed and generated once the visa fee is paid)... as specified the lawyers would put the information on the DS-230 with the security code from NVC and send it back to you again for FINAL SIGNATURES...just to make sure that all info are correct and precise and then you send it back to the lawyers, you're lawyers FINAL CHECKS your forms and then sends it back to NVC...

comments anyone? (correct me if i am wrong) i think medrep rey can comment on this one...

dale

dale:

this is how we did it:

- 2 months ago, we filled up (wife, me, daughter) individual DS230s.
- agency "formalized" our handwritten DS230s and had us check the informations.
- we re-checked the forms and signed it (part I only).
- apparently, the DS230s were immediately sent to the lawyers in cali.

- in the copy of the the packet 3 instructions provided us, it stated that "...you must send a completed Application for Immigrant Visa (DS-230 Part I) along with the enclosed sheet bearing the case number and barcode information in the enclosed envelope..."

- they gave us a separate copy of that "enclosed sheet bearing the case number and the barcode information," the NVC BARCODE SHEET which states " You MUST RETURN THIS PAGE with the completed DS-230 PartI, supporting documents and I-864, if applicable to..."

- the barcode sheet also contains the case number and the EX visa classification (printed on top of the actual barcode).

- they also gave us individual copies of the payment coupons (wife's, paid for by the agency, mine and daughter's paid for personally) for the fee bill.

unless there is another "special DS-230 form" contained in the packet 3, the forms we signed were submitted by the lawyers to the NVC (together with the other requirements).

this is how the agency does it with all their other applicants. we'll know in 6-8 weeks if what the agency did will cause any problem with our application. just got NVC confirmation (through phone) that they have received P3, sep. 23! :hatparty:

comments are encouraged, please.

thanks!
