hi..I'm a newbie hir..i have learned many things in here..Im a new board passer..And plans to work in U.S specifically California (Bcoz i have relatives there) but i have learned that processing there is very slow..So I am choosing Vermont for my initial licensure then just endore my license to California...My questions are:how long is the processing for application?wat are the requirements?can u give me the step by step process and length of time so that i would be familiar with it..thanks

hi,

this is my first time to post a query here. i sought the service of an agency in the philippines for the processing of my application for nclex exam (vermont). i passed it on dec 2007. they instructed me to wait for vermont's OPRegulation's as they will send me my license although I still dont have my SS number (sine Im here in the Philippines). But it has been almost 3 months now and haven't received it. What is the process after passing the exam? Should I need to register/apply for initial licensure?

In oder for you to be able to write the NCLEX exam, you have already applierd for licensure as an RN. I do not like the fact that this agency even calls themselves NCLEX application or what ever since one does not actually exist.

You apply for licensure and then get approval to sit for the exam. If one cannot figure out what needs to be done to get licensed in the US, then it is going to be very hard and difficult for them to work in the US and be able to function.

If you have not received your license by now, then suggest that you contact the BON to get your license or find out where it went to in the first place. If you passed the exam, then you have been issued a license by them. You can also check for your name on their website and if it is there, then you have a license that is issued.

Please read the Primer at the top of this page to see what is actually needed to work in the US as an RN. And since you were never informed by this wonderful company of what was being done and what you signed for them to be able to do anything for you, it gets me quite angry.

I am sure that they are keeping people in the dark so that they can continue to collect funds from people that just do not know how easy that it is to do on your own.

Please do not even consider doing anything about licensure in CA at this time as it is going to be about five years for you to have a chance at a green card, and by then, not sure if any facilities will be petitioning from there.

Please take the time to do some reading on this forum for information that you really need to be aware of and that you should have been aware of.
