Question - hope for extending OPT?

is there hope for extending OPT as they did it for STEM prfessiionals? i heard that lawyers are fighting for OPT extention for RN and PT's is this the case, anyone knows anything?

At this moment, you are unable to extend the OPT past the one year time.
Lawyers can fight and argue all that they want, but it still needs the approval of the US government and do not think that we are going to see that.

First big difference with this and the other programs is that most of them remain here on the H1-B visa, and nurses do not. They use the green card, and when that is not available or going to be, then there is no reason to extend the OPT.

At least in my eyes.

I don't think nursing qualifies for the 17month extension. Only those in the listed majors qualify for it. And last time i heard, the schools can now do the extension through SEVIS, that was a month ago or so.
