Question - Help needed ... confused about requirements

Hi, I would like to clarify some points since my friend and I are specifically interested in ILLINOIS or MARYLAND. We find it confusing if we need to have our NLE or not. We plan to NOT to take the local boards anymore and take the NCLEX asap. Please help us ....

1) My understanding is that CES does NOT require Philippine/local RN license. If the State BON did not specifically mention that local board/CGFNS is required then we're eligible to take exams for their state (since they only mentioned CES as their requirement).
2) How long does it take to process CES for both states?
3) How long would it take for me to receive our ATT for both states?
4) If you have the list at hand, could you provide me the states which do not require local license?
5) How do we get the forms for Maryland? Do we really have to call or send an email to their BON? Don't they have a pdf downloadable file?

Re: Help needed ... confused about requirements

Your bigger issue is that we are under a retrogression at this time so if you are looking at about a five year wait and do not have a local license, how in the world are you going to get any experience. Your country as well as every other one requires a local license.

More and more states now are actually requiring the local license and that list is always changing. You are going to need to do some research on your own to find out about the ones that you are interested in. Be aware that you will need to endorse to another state if you are not going to work in the one that you are wishing to go thru for licensure and that means a waste of time as well as money.

There is no hurry in any respect as there are no visas available and you are only going to get a chance at a green card, there is no one that has any guarantees anymore, not sure if you are aware of that.
